Project Overview and Map

Brazos Electric plans to upgrade approximately 2 miles of existing 138 kilovolt (kV) single-circuit transmission line to a 138 kV double-circuit line. As part of the project, minor substation improvements may occur at both the Egan and Highpoint Substations. The upgrade will extend from the Egan Substation to the Highpoint Substation, utilizing single-pole structures in Johnson County, Texas. The project would be reconstructed primarily within the existing easement. Approximately 0.69-acre of new right-of-way would be required.

The Egan to Highpoint project is needed to address reliability concerns along the existing 138 kV transmission system in Johnson and Ellis counties. This project will enhance system capacity and improve service reliability for Brazos Electric Cooperative and its member-customers.
